Coach's Observations
Coach reads this as
▶What is this?
These are the moments in your race where you lost the most time and distance compared to your best sailing. Each event is a period where your speed toward the next mark dropped significantly. The biggest losses are at the top — these are the moments worth understanding first. Tap any event to see it on the map and get the coach's detailed analysis.

▶What is this?
This is your race debrief tool. When you select an event from the table, the map zooms to that moment and the card below shows what happened, how much it cost, and what to do differently. Use the arrow buttons to step through events one by one.
▶ Speed toward the mark by sailing angle
▶What is this?
This shows how efficiently you sailed at different angles to the wind. Higher VMC (velocity made good on course) means you're covering ground toward the mark faster. The table breaks your sailing into angle bands so you can see which angles worked best and which cost you speed. The scatter view plots every data point so you can spot patterns.

▶ Performance by leg of the course
▶What is this?
This breaks your race into individual legs between marks and shows how you performed on each one. Compare your upwind legs to each other, see which downwind leg was fastest, and spot where conditions or decisions changed your pace.
▶ Tacks & gybes
▶What is this?
Every time you changed direction — tacking upwind or gybing downwind — is logged here with how much speed you lost through the turn and how quickly you recovered. Good boat handling means less speed lost and faster recovery. Patterns here reveal whether your turns are costing you more than they should.
▶ Sailing angles and laylines
▶What is this?
This shows the angles you actually sailed compared to your boat's optimal angles in these wind conditions. Sailing too high (pinching) or too low (footing) upwind, or too deep or too high downwind, costs distance to the mark. As you upload more races, your boat's optimal angles become more accurate — the system learns how your boat sails.
